In a masterful performance, Carlos Checa held off another late surge by Marco Melandri to win race two at Magny-Cours. Carlos Checa won his first Superbike World Championship with a commanding race one win at Magny-Cours. After starting third on the grid he quickly moved up to lead the way, extending his lead with each lap without ever being challenged.
