After the fall: Rise and think about Brno
Hello all. When you read this, I will be on a plane. I am off to visit Indonesia, a place we have already raced at, and soon we will have to come back, take a brief break and immediately start preparing for Brno.
As you’ll understand, we are really looking forward to reaching Brno because after yesterday’s crash, we want to return to racing and be able to reach the joy of a podium we couldn’t get at Laguna Seca.
About the crash, all I can say to you is that when you push to the maximum, throwing as much as you can to try to win, this can happen. It was not the time to be conservative about it. On Saturday we needed 3 or 4 tenth per lap and from Saturday to Sunday, the team could only make small improvements to the bike. I also had to contribute with my own small improvements.
To fight for the World championship, we clearly knew it was necessary to win many races to reduce the points to the leader. Lorenzo does not get off the steps of the podium, he is being very regular and for that reason, it was the time to take risks and push to the maximum. When taking risks, you can end up on the ground.
I went over a bump (which happened in previous laps) but this time, I crashed out.
We cannot complain. There is no choice but to focus on trying to do my best at the next GP.
We sincerely hope that it won’t stop us fighting back for victory.
We have a good momentum; we must remember that when I fell yesterday, I was leading the race and we have to stay with that idea.
By the way, I want you to know that it is an honour to reach such a distant country like the United States and see the flags of support with my number …
You are unbeatable. Thank you very much.
A hug to you all.
Dani
